Temporary Disconnect


Terms of Service

These Service Terms and the TELUS Local Telephone Service Terms apply to your use of forborne Temporary Disconnect Service.  Temporary Disconnect Service is available in the Province of Alberta and is provided by TELUS Communications Company.

1.  Service Description

Temporary Disconnect Service provides the ability to temporarily disconnect all or part of your local telephone service.

2.  Service Conditions

The minimum period of temporary disconnection is one (1) month and the maximum period of temporary disconnection is 12 months.

If your local telephone service is provided in an exchange provisioned with equipment for intercepting telephone calls, during the time your local telephone service is temporarily disconnected, callers to your telephone number will be informed of the telephone service disconnection.

If you have been assigned directory numbers and local telephone service has not been established on the effective date of the telephone directory, until local telephone service is established, you will be responsible to pay one half of the monthly charge for local telephone service in the applicable exchange.

3.  Your Responsibilities

You must provide TELUS with reasonable advance notice of when you want temporary disconnection of your local telephone service to begin and when you want your local telephone service restored.

For temporary disconnection of all of your local telephone services, you will be responsible to pay one half of the monthly charges you pay each month for local telephone service.

For temporary disconnection of part of your local telephone services, you will be responsible to pay one half of the monthly charges you pay each month for the portion of your local telephone service that is disconnected.

During the time your local telephone service is temporarily disconnected, you will be responsible to pay all directory advertising charges and any individual line service surcharge.

To have your local telephone service reconnected, you will be responsible to pay the applicable service charge.
