Call Gate™ How It Works

You can select any combination of types of calls to block
 
Enter the system by calling 310-TOUCH (8682). Outside Alberta, dial 1-403-263-6981* or 1-780-428-6824*. Enter your phone number and/or your password followed by the # key.
 
From the Main Menu of the Calling Features Assistant:
  1. Press 3 to choose Call Gate.
  2. Press 1 to turn Call Gate ON.
    Press 2 to turn Call Gate OFF.
  3. Press 3 to edit Call Gate options.
    Press 1 to play back current options.
    Press 2 to add or change options:
    • Press 2 to block all direct-dialed Long Distance numbers (includes all 1-900 numbers and long distance Directory Assistance) NOTE: you can still dial toll-free (1-800, 1-888, etc.) numbers
    • Press 3 to block 1-900 numbers
    • Press 4 to block local and long distance Directory Assistance (411, 555-1212)
    • Press 5 to block Operator Assisted (0+) calls
    • Press 6 to create a list of specific telephone numbers to be blocked. Any local or long distance numbers may be included.
    • Press 8 to block 1-800/Toll-free numbers
After you select your options, press 1 to activate the service.
 
Call Gate Code
 
Create a code to enable only authorized callers to dial the blocked numbers. Share your Call Gate Code with only those people who should have access, but never give anyone your password.

From the Main Menu of the Calling Features Assistant:
  1. Press 3 to choose Call Gate.
  2. Press 9 to set up a Call Gate Code.
NOTE: The Calling Features Assistant will announce the code and then you will have the option to create a new code.
 
When Call Gate is ON and you attempt to dial a blocked number you will hear the following message: "A Call Gate Code is required to dial this number. Please enter your Code followed by the pound key."
