Internet Call Director How?


It starts with software.
After you order Internet Call Director, you will receive a Welcome e-mail confirming your subscription and containing a link to download the software. Once the software is installed and the service is active (within 2 business days), you're ready to surf the Net and manage your calls on the same telephone line.

When you're on the Internet…
A system at TELUS collects the name and number of your caller (where available) and sends this information across the Internet to your computer.

When the call comes in…
The Internet Call Director software is launched and a "pop-up" display appears on your screen. Just like a Call Display screen on your phone, you'll be presented with the name and number of your caller. If your computer has a sound card, you will also hear a "ring".

4 ways to manage your calls.
You'll have 18 seconds to choose how to handle your caller. As illustrated in the view a demo , use your mouse and simply click on the option you prefer.

What your callers hear.
When you select an option, your callers will hear a message, asking them to wait while you engage the call, to wait while the call is being transferred or to advise them that you aren't available. You can personalize each of these messages.

When you're NOT on the Internet…
Internet Call Director is not active, so you will not see an incoming caller on your computer screen.

PC

  • 486 processor with Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows NT4 (SP 3 or greater), or Windows XP;
  • 14.4 KBPS modem
  • Dial-up connection to an Internet service provider. Internet Call Director works with all standard Internet service providers, including AOL 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0;
  • Internet Call Director software installed on your computer (available for download after you have registered online).
  • Call Forwarding - Busy, so your calls are forwarded to our server while you're on the Internet.
    Note: Internet Call Director monthly price includes Call Forwarding - Busy, and is automatically set up when you register for service.

Mac

  • Macintosh with a PowerPC processor
  • Apple OS 8.6, 9.04, 9.1 or 9.2
  • 14.4 KBPS modem
