Optimize costs and Connect your entire Office
Link your entire office to the Internet at increased speeds. NAT (Network Address Translation), which is included with your router, allows you to use only one IP address (comes with TELUS high speed Internet service) to connect multiple PCs! Once setup, you can add, remove PCs in minutes.
Stay Productive, get basic Protection to help keep out Hackers
NAT also blocks typical paths (e.g. ports) that Hackers like to use, making it difficult for them to access your office network using the Internet. Your router is like a fortress with intelligent guards around your network of PCs. It can let those it knows in or out, it can open/close doors (e.g. Internet ports), and it can produce a report of break-in attempts.
Save time and resources with file and printer sharing
Allow others to access your hard drive files via your router. You can even connect an Ethernet enabled printer to your router so that your office can share it.
Fast Internet connections
Linksys and D-link routers offer you 11 to 22 MBPS (Mega Bits per Second) 'high-speed' transfer rates across your local area network depending on the router you select. With TELUS High Speed Internet service offering you 2.5 to 4.0 MBPS speeds, your Linksys or D-link router shouldn't be a bottleneck.
Easy setup in minutes
Once you connect one PC to your TELUS high speed Internet service connection (e.g. to your ADSL modem), you can add a router and connect additional PCs in minutes. Our basic router can connect 4 PCs using a built-in 4-port EtherFast© 10/100 Switch. And it's expandable to 253 PCs!
A Wireless Office is now available
When you purchase a wireless router and add wireless network cards to each PC, you can connect up to 32 PCs to your router (within your office) without the cables! Each PC can be up to 150 meters away indoors and 500 meters outdoors. Your wireless router also includes 4 ports so you can wire up to 4 PCs and expand further by adding a wired Switch (e.g. 32 Wireless + 221 Wired = 253 total PCs!)
Wireless is Safe
Wireless routers include Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP), which offer 128-bit encryption in addition to NAT, as your data goes wireless within your office. To read an encrypted file, a hacker must have access to a secret key or password that enables you to decrypt it. Your office manager can change the encryption key frequently for extra security.
TELUS and Linksys / D-link offer 24/7 support
TELUS and its partners both offer you toll free telephone tech support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to get you the help you need when you need it most.
2nd line of defense against Hackers
A router with NAT can only help block incoming communications. Personal Firewalls like the TELUS Personal Firewall provide additional protection by scanning incoming and outgoing communications. Whereas the NAT acts like a fortress for your network, a personal firewall is like a suit of armor around PCs. Visit: TELUS Personal Firewall.
