Cost

Text messaging is available as part of the new Business Max bundles that provide savings on a variety of high-value features at special bundle prices. Business Max bundles can be added to many business rate plans.

Text messaging is also available on a pay-per-use basis:

  • 15¢ per sent or received text message*
    20¢ / outside Canada & US

Receiving text messages

All digital PCS phones have been automatically enabled to receive text messages. If you have a Mike phone, or would like to verify that your phone can receive text messages, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Send a Message and send a message to your phone
  2. If you receive it, you have Text Messaging
  3. If you don't receive it, contact Client Care to have the service set up

When you receive a message, you'll be notified on your phone and will be prompted to either read the message right away or save it until later.

Note: Depending on your phone model, the process of retrieving Text Messages may differ. Please see the Online User Guide for your Mike phone or PCS phone for more information.

Sending text messages

In addition to sending a text message from your mobile phone to another mobile phone, the following options are also available:

  • From your e-mail - by addressing the message to 10digitmobilenumber@msg.telus.com (e.g., 4031234567@msg.telus.com)
  • From your mobile phone to a non-mobile number or landline.  See TELUS Text to Landline for more information.
