Solution

Based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, RAMECO Inc. is a marketing and business consultancy that specializes in business development for a wide range of clients.  It's a demanding specialty land requires a large degree of mobility.  "I'm out of the office almost all the time," says the company's Principal, Ryan Jackson.  "But I need to be available to my clients, wherever I am."

To make sure his clients can reach him, Jackson had a TELUS business phone line with calling features, TELUS long distance service and a TELUS high speed Internet plan in his home office.  He also used a BlackBerry handheld device, with a TELUS wireless plan.  The only solution he still needed was fax software that would allow him to send and receive faxes on the road.

"I looked at a few different Web sites but I kept gravitating back to TELUS," says Jackson.  "I've been a long time user of TELUS wireless services and knew that all their services would be at the level I need.  That's when I discovered the TELUS Business One Bundle on their Web site.  It really caught my eye because it has everything I need, including services I would otherwise have to get at significant additional cost from three or four other providers."

Jackson calculates that the Business One Bundle saves his company substantially on the cost of communications services.  However, he doesn't consider these savings to be the biggest benefit of the Bundle.  "It doesn't just save me money," he says.  "It makes me money.  In fact, I would pay full price just to get the services I need to effectively service my clients."

RAMECO's location in Medicine Hat puts it right on the edge of the TELUS high speed Internet service footprint.  As a result, before recent upgrades to the service were introduced, Jackson needed to call technical support on one or two occasions.  He was delighted when his call was answered immediately by a live operator.  "What a nice offering from a service standpoint," he says.  "It's right there when you need it.  But now, since the upgrades, it's really smoking."

Jackson also appreciates receiving only one bill for all his communications services.  "It's not critical, but it is nice to have," he says.  "But in terms of the overall bundle, the best thing any service provider can do is allow you to forget that you even have a provider.  If you don't remember the last time you had to call them, then things are working."
