To run this service effectively, you need:
- High speed Internet connection
- Windows XP SP 1
- Microsoft Office Live Communication Server 2005 SP1 (available for download) for instant messaging (IM) and Presence Awareness functionality
- Office 2000 (SR2), XP (SR2) or 2003 for contact searching integration with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
- Office 2003 for Presence Awareness integration within Microsoft Office applications
- Microsoft Exchange Server managed by TELUS for schedule (free/busy) or "Out of Office" integration
- A PC camera, microphone and speakers for contact searching integration with Microsoft Office Outlook 2003
- A registered domain name may be required to access the service
