Direct Connect your Mike contacts and any US-based Direct Connect contacts while in the U.S. as well as back to Canada - all Direct Connect minutes within the U.S. to the US are local, so a call from New York to L.A. costs as little as 20¢ per minute (depending on your rate plan), billed by the second.
Travelling to Argentina, Brazil, Mexico or Peru?
With our international roaming service, you can take your TELUS Mike phone to these countries and still get many of the great Mike features you enjoy at home, like private Direct Connect, wireless Web access and voice mail.
What you need to know
Before you roam internationally, you will need to activate International Calling on your account, which is subject to credit approval. To activate International Calling, you must call Client Care from within Canada. Dial *611 from your Mike phone or dial the local Client Care number.
For calls to Client Care from outside of Canada, you must dial + (plus sign), 1, and the 10-digit local Client Care number below that corresponds to your home region:

Things you need to know when you’re calling internationally:
- Minutes used while roaming are not applied towards included minutes offered within your TELUS rate plan.
- While roaming, voice mail deposits will be charged $1.24 per minute plus long distance from the international destination to Canada. If your phone is turned off, incoming calls sent to voice mail will not be charged.
- To access voice mail from overseas, you will not be able to use the message keys on your handset. You will need to instead retrieve voice mail by dialing the + (plus sign), 1, and your 10-digit Mike number from your Mike phone. Normal airtime and long distance charges will apply.
Please note: It may take up to 90 days for international calls to appear on your invoice.
