What exactly is Canada Direct® Service?
Canada Direct® is an international long distance service that allows you to call from abroad to Canada or to/within another country and pay TELUS International long distance inbound rates instead of foreign rates. Canada Direct® Service is available from over 130 countries!

Why should I use this service?
TELUS International Inbound Rates - when you use Canada Direct® you don't have to pay high local rates and in some cases, this can mean substantial savings.
No language barriers - French or English, the choice is yours. Or Mandarin and Cantonese from China (including Hong Kong) and Taiwan.
Billing control - perfect for businesses. Employees traveling abroad can use their TELUS Business Calling Card with their TELUS Calling Card Pocket Guide.
Avoid hotel surcharges - When you use Canada Direct® Service you should avoid paying expensive surcharges at some hotels. Canada Direct® is provided to hotels toll free. Some hotels apply surcharges on all calls so be sure to check with the Hotel before calling

How much does it cost?
With Canada Direct® Service -- you pay only TELUS International Inbound or Country to Country rates (plus applicable transaction fees)*.
For the best rates use your Business Calling Card and ensure you are on a TELUS long distance savings plan. Transaction fees apply.

Although Canada Direct® Service is provided to hotels toll-free, some hotel owners may still levy a connection charge on your call.

Besides Canada, what other countries can I call?
If you're in one of the countries where country-to-country service is offered you can call within that country to most other countries worldwide. Country-to-country calling service is available from countries identified with an asterisks* on the list. Country-to-country calling is a premium priced convenience service. What if I am having difficulty?
Some hotels subscribe to a service that routes Calling Card calls to alternative operators. If you have difficulty placing Calling Card calls, we suggest that you try calling from another location and report the problem when you return to Canada by calling 1-888-308-2222.

What should I do if the access code doesn't work?
First, check your TELUS Calling Card Pocket Guide to ensure you are dialing correctly and that you have the most up to date card, as numbers do change.
Note also that the TELUS Calling Card Pocket Guide outlines service restrictions by country. For example, service in Saint Lucia works only on public pay phones.
If you are dialing the correct access code and are still having problems, try another phone in a different location. For example, if you are using a hotel phone, try using a public phone (some public payphones are actually owned by international telephone companies and will be branded as such.
