You can view a rough estimate of your data usage in the Huawei Connection Manager software. If you want an exact reading of your data usage, always refer to your invoice.

View an estimate of your data usage

You can view an estimate of your data usage through your Huawei Connection Manager software by doing the following:

  1. From the Huawei Connection Manager, click the Menu icon.
  2. Click Statistics.
  3. Review your data usage based on the following time periods:
    • Daily
    • Monthly
    • Yearly

You can view an estimate of your total data usage by adding the total amount of uploaded and downloaded data listed.

Rely on your invoice for data usage

The Data Usage Tracking tab is not intended for billing purposes. Log in to your TELUS account for an accurate reading of your data usage. Do the following.

  1. Launch your Web browser.
  2. Log in to your TELUS account. Register if you don't have one.
  3. Click the Billing tab.
  4. Click View e.Bill.
  5. Write down the Bill date located in the first box.
    NOTE: The Bill date is the last day of your previous billing cycle. The next day is the first day for the current billing cycle.
  6. Click Data usage under the row of tabs.
  7. Select From.
    1. In the from field, enter the first day for the current billing cycle.
    2. In the to field, enter today's date.
  8. Click Search.
  9. Your total data usage for the current bill cycle is displayed in kilobytes.

Enable data notifications and limits

You can set up Huawei Connection Manager to display warnings when your data usage approaches the amount of data included with your rate plan. You can also set up Connection Manager to disable your data usage once you've reached the monthly allotment of data included with your plan.

To set up data notifications and limits, do the following.

  1. From the Huawei Connection Manager, click the Menu icon.
  2. Click Options.
  3. From the left pane, click Data Limit.
  4. Configure the following settings:
    1. Recurrence: Select Monthly, then select the ending date of your billing cycle. If you're not sure of this date, log in to your TELUS account and view your e.bill for details.
    2. Set Limit: Check the Data volume check box, then enter the amount of data (MB) included with your plan.
    3. Set Warnings: Set your warning notifications to your personal preferences.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Data notifications and limits are enabled.
