Making a call while outside Canada

LOCATION DIALING INSTRUCTIONS
Within the country you’re visiting Dial the area code (if applicable) and the local number.
From the country you’re visiting to Canada or the US Dial + (press and hold zero), 1, the area code, and then the local phone number.
From the country you’re visiting to another country (not Canada or the US) Dial + (press and hold zero), the country code, the area code (if applicable), and then the local phone number.
Some toll-free numbers may not work while travelling.

Sending a text while outside Canada

LOCATION DIALING INSTRUCTIONS
Within the country you’re visiting.
For example, Mexico to Mexico 		Create a new message
In the To field, enter the local destination number. The exit code and country code are not necessary
From the country you’re visiting to Canada or the US
  • Create a new message
  • In the To field, type +1 followed by the ten-digit phone number
  • Send the message
From the country you’re visiting to another country (not Canada or the US)
  • Create new message
  • In the To field, type the country code, followed by the area code (if applicable), and then the local phone number
  • Send the message
