Business Connect - Adding forwarding numbers to your own extension

With your RingCentral online account, you can add extension numbers in your forwarding numbers. When a call comes in to your extension, the system will dial the forwarding number first, then dial the the extension number after a delay.

This article will guide you on how to add extension numbers to your forwarding number.

Step 1:
Log in to your RingCentral online account.

Step 2:
Click Settings > My Settings.

Step 3:
Click Call Handling & Forwarding.

Step 4:
Click User Hours or After Hours, depending on your preference.

NOTE: The User Hours and After Hours option will only appear if your Hours of Operation is not set to 24 hours.

Step 5:
Enter your forwarding numbers in the fields provided.

NOTE: You can also set the first ring to your Softphone and smartphone by turning it On.

NOTE: If your forwarding number has an extension, add star (*) + Extension #.

IMPORTANT: The format should be Phone # + * + Extension #. In this example, we used 8575551234*9.

NOTE: You can only forward a call to a RingCentral extension that has a DigitalLine.

Step 7:
Once done, click Save to retain changes.

To check if the forwarding rule is implemented, try doing a test call.
