Overview

The TELUS Business Connect® Mobile solution is a professional app for smartphones and tablets that automatically greets callers and connects them to your mobile team. It’s a smarter way to connect to your customers.

Multiple levels of access provide administrator roles with complete system access, and standard user roles, such as employees, the ability to manage their business calls and voicemails. The TELUS Business Connect Mobile solution is for those on the go, or who simply want to move away from the standard office desk phone.

Mobile App User Guide.

**Please note that before installing the mobile app, you must complete the Quick Setup in Voice Manager for all users. Please see the TELUS Business Connect Mobile solution Onboarding Guide.

NOTE: Mobile app is only available for iOS and Android.

Installing the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app.

iOS

1. On your mobile device, launch the App Store.
2. Tap Search which is located at the bottom of the screen.
3. Type TELUS Business Connect
4. Select app
5. Tap, GET, then tap, INSTALL
6. Enter your Apple password (if required) then tap, OK

You have now installed the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app on your iOS device.

Android

1. On your mobile, launch the Google Play Store,
2. In the search bar, type TELUS Business Connect.
3. Select app
4. Click on, Install
5. Enter your Google password (if required) then tap, Install

You now installed the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app on your Android device.

Logging into your TELUS Business Connect Mobile app

1. Launch the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app from your device screen.
2. Click on, Sign In.
3. Enter the business toll-Free number in the phone number Field or your direct phone number assigned to you
4. Enter your extension number assigned to you. Note: if you sign in with your direct phone number, you are not required to enter your extension here.
5. Enter the user password that was created during the Quick Setup (See onboarding guide if not completed yet)
6. Click on, Sign In.

9. Enter your mobile number in the required field, and press, Next.  The phone actually says, to continue enter your mobile phone number so no need to explain to user.
10. Click Allow to send notifications
11. Click Ok to allow access to your contacts
12. Click OK to allow access to the microphone
13. Click on the circle on the top left to access the app settings
14. Click on Call Settings.
15. Select, Always Use VoIP

You are now ready to start making and receiving calls.

Please note that once the initial log in is completed you can easily log back in at any time using steps 1 to 5 only.

Navigating the mobile app

Active Call Controls

Mute turns off your microphone, eliminating background noise from your side of the call, and it may provide better incoming sound from the other party.

Keypad allows you to dial a number or press numeric inputs to access a certain department or queue.

Source gives you the option to use any of your audio sources. The most common audio sources for a mobile device are the headset and the internal speakers.

Transfer lets you to transfer a call to other extensions or call queues on your TELUS Business Connect solution.

Hold puts the other party on the line on hold until you tap it again to undo the action.

Flip allows you to switch a call to a different phone number registered in your call handling. For setup information please see, User call handling settings, in the Voice Manager Guide.

Main menu

All regularly used functions can be found at the bottom of the screen

  • Messages: View voicemail and text messages.
    • Tap on the line you wish to listen to, to bring up the Play Voicemail menu.
    • Tap < to return to the Message list
  • SMS (Note: in order to SMS to outside phone numbers, you must have a direct phone number assigned to your extension)
    • To send a new SMS, click on the + sign, and select, New SMS.
    • Enter the phone number you wish to contact, or press the + sign to access your contact list.
    • Type message.
    • Press the green triangle on the right of the text box to send.
    • To view/reply to a new Incoming SMS or previous SMS thread, tap on the name of the sender in the messages list.
    • Tap < to return to the Message list

To change the way the message displays, tap All Messages to set view to All Messages, Text, or Voicemail.

  • Recents View Call Log
    • Tap the Line you wish to call back or the to see more details of the call or add options
      • Call
      • Create new Contact
      • Add to Existing Contact
      • Block Number
    • Tap the trash can icon to clear the call log (Note, this will clear the entire log)
  • Contacts. View Business, Personal and Favourite contacts
    • Tap on All Contacts to switch between Company, Personal or Favorites
    • Tap the + sign to add a contact
  • KeyPad. Make a call
    • Tap the From to quickly switch Outbound caller ID option on a per call basic. To change the default, please see App Settings.

Mobile App Settings/My Profile

To get to the My Profile setup menus, click the Circle in the upper left of the screen.

Within the App Settings/My Profile section, you will find the following

Status

The Status feature allows you to open your line to accept calls or set your line as busy or invisible. Follow these steps to change your activity status on the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app.

1. Tap Status to change your status.

a. Available. This will allow you to take incoming calls for your extension
b. Do Not Disturb, any calls will connect immediately to your voicemail.
c. Busy, you can choose not to receive calls from a Call Queue. You can still receive notifications and calls going directly to your extension as long as you enable Accept Call queue calls.
d. Invisible so other users will not see whether you are Busy or Available.

When you set your Status to Busy or Invisible refer to comment above regarding Invisible, you can choose not to receive calls from a Call Queue. You can still receive notifications and calls going directly to your extension as long as you enable Accept Call queue calls.

NOTE: Your Availability Status is automatically applied immediately to your extension after tapping Done.

Data VoIP calling

toggle ON if you want to use Wi-Fi or data rather than your phone’s native dialer.

Call settings

Open the call settings for further call handling options

  • Always Use VoIP. When there is no Wi-Fi connectivity, call will be connected using cellular data.
  • Use VoIP only on Wi-Fi. When there is no Wi-Fi connectivity, outgoing calls will be connected using your cellular voice minutes (RingOut)
  • Always Use Cellular Voice (RingOut). Calls will be connected using your cellular voice minutes (RingOut) ) (Note: by default this setting is always turned on after App is installed, switch to Always Use VoIP in order to start making your calls through the Telus Business Connect Mobile Solution.)   • RingOut Settings
    • My Phone. When VoIP is turned off, outgoing calls will be connected to your through your RingOut number
    • Another Phone. Call you at the phone you select in the below list
      • My Phone
      • Add Phone Number > Type the number to which you wish to direct RingOut calls
    • Confirm Connection. Requires you to enter “1” before the call is connected to your party.
    • Update My Number. To change your registered mobile number.
    • Integrated Calling.(iOS Only) When Integrated Calling is on, answer incoming calls on your lock screen and make VoIP calls from your device’s recent call list.

Extension settings. Allows you to manage your extension settings directly from your mobile app.

Phone system. (Administrators Only). Allows you to manage the phone system directly from your mobile device. i.e. company hours of operation, Auto-receptionist, Groups and Users. (See Voice Manager Guide)

International calling. (Administrators Only) Allows you to manage the international calling list
