Are you a TELUS Easy Payment™ customer?

If so, your first or second bill is going to contain the taxes for the TELUS Easy Payment Balance you took when getting your device. Due to taxation laws, tax on any tablets purchased through the TELUS Easy Payment for tablets program is due upfront at the time of purchase. This means that tax for any down payment amount will be charged upfront at the store, and any remaining tax on the starting TELUS Easy Payment Balance will be charged on your first or second bill. This is a one-time charge and no taxes will be charged on your on-going Monthly TELUS Easy Payment installments.

My first TELUS Business bill is higher than I expected

This is likely due to partial charges. Our invoices always charge 1 month in advance. So, if you activated a Mobility Business plan in the middle of a billing period, you will see a partial charge from the date of your activation to your billing date, as well as a charge for the next full month of service. Any partial charges will only appear on the first bill unless there are other changes made to your account in the future.

Example of how partial charges are applied

You signed up for SharePlus Voice 40 at a cost of $40 per month.

You signed up on May 25 and billing cycle begins on June 1.

Calculation to determine partial charge Total charge on first bill

$40 / 30 days in a month x 6 days (May 25 to 30) = $13.33 (partial charge)

$13.33 (partial charge) + $40.00 (monthly charge) = $53.33 + applicable taxes

Note: Partial month billing always assumes 30 days in a month, regardless of the month
