BlackBerry® Z10 4G LTE - How to set up your BlackBerry as a Mobile Hotspot

You can set up your BlackBerry as a Wi-Fi™ source for computers and other smartphones with Wi-Fi capability.

Set up your Mobile Hotspot for the first time

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon.
  2. Select Network Connections.
  3. Select Mobile hotspot.
  4. Tap Configure.
  5. The Mobile Hotspot Settings window appears.
  6. Type a name or keep the default name for your hotspot.
  7. Select the Security Type. We recommend WPA2 Personal.
  8. Type the desired Password. All devices that connect to your Mobile Hotspot will require this password.
  9. Select the Band Type.
  10. Select the Inactivity Timer.
  11. Tap Save.
  12. Turn On the Mobile Hotspot.
  13. Your Mobile Hotspot is set up.

Turn off Mobile Hotspot

To conserve your battery and data usage, you can turn off Mobile Hotspot when you're not using it. Do the following.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon.
  2. Select Network Connections.
  3. Select Mobile hotspot.
  4. Turn Off the Mobile Hotspot.
  5. Your Mobile Hotspot network is turned off.

Turn on Mobile Hotspot

To turn on Mobile Hotspot, do the following.

  1. From the Home screen, tap the Settings icon.
  2. Select Network Connections.
  3. Select Mobile hotspot.
  4. Turn On the Mobile Hotspot.
  5. The Mobile Hotspot network is turned on.
