Voicemail Greetings inform your callers that they have reached the voicemail so you can leave a voice message to the owner of the extension. This article will guide you on how to customize the user hours Voicemail Greeting of an extension.

NOTE: You need to be an Account Administrator to perform this action.

Step 1:

Log in to your  Business Connect Voice Manager account

Step 2:

Go to Settings.

If you are an Administrator on the account, click Phone System.

If you are a User on the account, click My Settings.

Step 3:

If you are a User on the account,click Screening, Greeting & Hold Music. 

Click Set Greeting.

For more information on how a User can record a message, move to Step 4.

If you are an Administrator on the account, click Users.

Click the extension you want to edit.

Click Messages and Notifications

Click User Hours.

NOTE: The User Hours and After Hours tab will be visible if the Hours of Operations of the extension is not set to 24 Hours.

Click Voicemail Greeting.

NOTE: Be sure that the Take Messages option during user hours is set to Yes

Step 4:

Record your Greeting

Select Custom.

  •  Record Over the Phone
  •  Record Using your Computer Microphone
  •  Import

• Record Over the Phone - This option will allow you to enter your telephone number and the system will try to reach the phone number you keyed in, after which you will be given instructions on to record your greeting.

Record Using your Computer Microphone - This will allow you to record your own greeting using your computer's microphone.

• Import - This option will allow you to upload a customized pre-recorded audio file stored from your computer.

NOTE: You can only use .wav or .mp3 audio files. Wav audio files should be PCM at 8bit 16khtz. You can use a third-party software that detects the media info of the audio file.

Step 5:

Click Save to retain the changes.

You have just customized the user hours Voicemail Greeting of an extension.
