Groups Overview

Groups, formerly known as Departments, enable you to designate a group of employees with similar activities or services. In the latest release, Departments have been renamed to Groups with intended features to handle call queues, shared lines and paging.

You can set up the following:


Extension Number – The number assigned to the group.

Group Name – The name for the group. You may also record your group’s name.

Record Call Queue Name – This option allows you to make phonetic changes to the spelling of the group name used in your default greetings inserted in the name of your company's group.
• Company Name – The name of the company.
• Contact Phone – The phone number of the company. This contact info can be used on Fax cover page.
• Manager Email – The main contact email address for the specific group. Notifications for this group will be sent to the contact email address indicated.
• Address – The address of the company or group. This address can be used on the outbound Fax cover page.

Call Queue Hours – This option allows you to either set incoming calls to be handled the same way all the time or specify incoming calls to be handled differently when business is closed.

Call Queue Members – Allows you to select members or users who will handle calls directed to the specified group.

Group Password - Allows you to set a password and security question of your group.
• Regional Settings - Allows you to set the time zone, time format and home country code of your group.
Resend Welcome Email - Allows you to resend the welcome email when you signed up for your account.

Extension Info
This section will allow you to edit the extension number, name, contact email address and security settings such as password and security question of your extension. You may also add or edit a direct number for the extension.

You can set up the following:

Extension Number – The number that will be assigned to the extension.
Extension Name – The extension’s name
Record Extension Name – This will allow you to make phonetic changes to the spelling of your extension name so the system can pronounce it correctly.
• Company Name – The name of the company.
• Contact Phone – The phone number of the company.
Email – The main contact email of the extension.
Extension Password - Allows you to set a password and security question of your extension.
Regional Settings - Allows you to set the time zone, time format and home country code of your department.

Direct Numbers
This number is the phone number that your customers call when they want to routed directly to the department without going through the menu. You can create toll-free, local and vanity numbers.
