TELUS Smart Hub Set Up

The TELUS Smart Hub lets you easily connect to the largest 4G network in Canada* via Wi-Fi, LAN or a voice connection. Here’s how to set it up direct, through a wireless router or, a gateway.

How to set up your TELUS Smart Hub – Direct

1. Plug the SIM card into the back of the TELUS Smart Hub device

2. Plug the power cord into the back of the device

3. Plug the RJ45 cable into the LAN port of the device

4. Plug the RJ45 cable into the LAN port of the computer Switch on the TELUS Smart Hub

a. The boot-up sequence can take up to 5 minutes

5. Open a browser window on the computer

6. In the Address bar, enter 192.168.20.1

7. Follow the wizard steps

8. The TELUS Smart Hub will reboot once the settings have been changed

a. The reboot sequence can take up to 5 minutes

9. Launch the browser and start browsing

How to set up TELUS Smart Hub to WAN port of third party wireless router/gateways

1. Plug the SIM card into the back of the TELUS Smart Hub device

2. Plug the power cord into the back of the device

3. Plug the RJ45 cable into the LAN port of the device

4. Plug the RJ45 cable into the LAN port of the computer

5. Switch on the TELUS Smart Hub

a. The boot-up sequence can take up to 5 minutes

6. Open a browser window on the computer

7. In the Address bar, enter 192.168.20.1

8. Follow the wizard steps

9. The device will reboot once the settings have been changed

a. The reboot sequence can take up to 5 minutes

10. Unplug the RJ45 cable from the WAN/Internet port of your third party wireless router/gateway

12. Reboot the third party router

a. The reboot sequence can take up to 5 minutes

13. Launch the browser and start browsing

** Please note that once the ADSL has been restored, the RJ45 cable on the WAN port must be disconnected

How to set up TELUS Smart Hub to WAN port of TELUS wireless router/gateways

1. Plug the SIM card into the back of the TELUS Smart Hub

2. Plug the power cord into the back of the device

3. Plug the RJ45 cable into the LAN port of the device

4. Plug the RJ45 cable into the LAN port of the computer

5. Switch on the TELUS Smart Hub

a. The boot-up sequence can take up to 5 minutes

6. Open a browser window in the computer

7. In the Address bar, enter 192.168.20.1

8. Follow the wizard steps

9. The device will reboot once the settings have been changed

10. Unplug the RJ45 cable from the computer and plug it into the WAN/Internet port of your TELUS wireless router

11. Unplug the RJ11 telephone cable from the TELUS gateway/router

12. Reboot the third party wireless router

a. The reboot sequence can take up to 5 minutes

13. Launch the browser and start browsing

** Please note that once the ADSL has been restored, the RJ11 cable must be plugged back into the TELUS gateway and the RJ45 cable on the WAN port disconnected.

How to set up your TELUS Smart Hub – Direct

** Please note that once the ADSL has been restored, the RJ45 cable on the WAN port must be disconnected

1. Plug the SIM card into the back of the TELUS Smart Hub
