You can back up your contacts list, and synchronize your calendar, with your Gmail account.
If you've set up a Gmail email account on your smartphone, it should automatically be backed up with your Gmail account.
You don't have a Gmail email account set up on your smartphone
- If you haven't set up a Gmail email account on your smartphone, do the following.
- From the Home screen, tap Apps.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down to Accounts.
- Tap Add account.
- Select Google.
- Tap Existing.
- NOTE: Tap New if you do not have a Gmail or Google account.
- Type your Gmail username and password.
- Tap Done.
- Tap OK.
- Tap Not now.
- Leave the desired options selected and tap the right arrow.
- Your smartphone contacts and calendar are synchronized with your Gmail account.
You've already set up a Gmail email account on your smartphone
If you've already set up a Gmail email account on your smartphone, but would like to ensure it's backed up with your Gmail account, do the following.
- Select your personal data you would like to sync
- From the Home screen, tap Apps.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down to Accounts.
- Select Google.
- Select the desired Gmail account.
- Select the content you'd like backed up with your Gmail account.
- Tap Sync now to confirm your selections.
- Your smartphone contacts and calendar are synchronized with your Gmail account.
Back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and other settings to Google servers
- From the Home screen, tap Apps.
- Select Settings.
- Select Back up and reset.
- Select the Back up my data checkbox.
- Select Backup account.
- Set the desired backup account.
- Your smartphone backs up to the Google servers.
