BlackBerry® Curve 9320 -Battery drains quickly

If you find that your BlackBerry® drains or loses power more quickly than you expect, try the following.

Turn off Bluetooth

Turn off Bluetooth® connections when you don’t need them.

  • From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  • Select Maximize Panel.
  • Select the All tab.
  • Click Manage Connections.
  • Clear the Bluetooth check box.
  • Your Bluetooth connection is turned off.

Turn off Wi-Fi

Turn off Wi-Fi™ connections when you don't need them.

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Select Maximize Panel.
  3. Select the All tab.
  4. Click Manage Connections.
  5. Clear the Wi-Fi check box.
  6. Your Wi-Fi connection is turned off.

Turn off Mobile Hotspot

Turn off Mobile Hotspot when you're not using it. Do the following.

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Select Maximize Panel.
  3. Select the All tab.
  4. Click Manage Connections.
  5. Clear the Mobile Hotspot check box.
  6. Your Mobile Hotspot network is turned off.

Lower backlighting

Lower the amount of time that your screen remains lit when not in use.

  1. From the Home screen, press the Menu key.
  2. Select Maximize Panel.
  3. Select the All tab.
  4. Click Options.
  5. Select Display.
  6. Select Screen Display.
  7. Lower the settings for:
  8. Backlight Brightness
  9. Backlight Timeout
  10. Press the Exit key.
  11. The Changes made! window appears. Tap Save.

Make sure your battery is fully charged

Make sure that you fully recharge your battery on a regular basis prior to use. Failure to do so can cause your battery to drain more rapidly and shorten its life span.

  • Whenever possible, use the AC adapter and plug your phone into an external power outlet.
  • You can use your BlackBerry while your battery recharges.

Restart your BlackBerry

Restarting your BlackBerry causes its software to reload and renews your connection to the network, which can fix some problems:

  1. Remove the battery.
  2. Wait ten seconds.
  3. Reinsert the battery.
  4. Turn your BlackBerry on.
  5. Your BlackBerry is restarted.

If these steps are unsuccessful, visit a Product Care Centre to have your BlackBerry inspected.
