Sierra Wireless Aircard - Can;t connect in Canada

If you can connect to the Internet outside North America, but can’t inside Canada, try the following.

Connect in Canada

The Sierra Wireless AirCard 319U automatically chooses the best frequency for your location. However, you may have configured the mobile Internet key to work on a specific frequency or network while travelling.

To change your network selection to automatic mode:

Windows - Internet Explorer

  1. From the Sierra Wireless AirCard Watcher, click the Options icon.
  2. Click Network.
  3. From the Frequency band list, select Automatic.
  4. Set Network Selection Mode to Automatic.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Your mobile Internet key is in automatic mode.

Mac OS X - Safari

  1. From the AirCard Watcher, click the Preferences icon.
  2. Click the Network tab.
  3. From the Frequency Band list, select Automatic.
  4. Set Selection Mode to Automatic
  5. Your mobile Internet key is in automatic mode.

Check SIM card

Check that your SIM card is a TELUS brand SIM card.

Your SIM card is a TELUS brand SIM card if:

  • You purchased it from a TELUS store.
  • It says TELUS on the back of the card.
  • To check whether your SIM card has been activated by TELUS visit a Product Care Centre
